Current Projects

EnCusp, LLC is working on several projects that offer assistance to environmental scientists and decision-makers.  Our current projects in development are listed below.

Customizable and Interactive Environmental Course Materials

We are excited to announce the development of online environmental courses designed for K-12 and college students. These courses are built with interactivity in mind, offering engaging content that captures students’ attention and fosters their understanding of environmental topics. These courses will have a high level of customizability for teachers, which will allow them to tailor the material to their classroom needs and teaching styles. We have also curated the course content to address current real-world environmental issues and solutions, ensuring that students are equipped with relevant knowledge and skills to tackle pressing challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainability. By combining interactive elements, adaptability for teachers, and a focus on real-world applications, these courses aim to inspire the next generation of environmentally conscious individuals and empower them to make a positive impact on the world around them.

We are currently in the process of course development for K-12 grades and will be offering opportunities for teachers to test out our course designs. Please subscribe to our email newsletter to stay updated on our activities!

AI Tools to Streamline Invertebrate Identification

AI Inverts

In the study of aquatic ecosystems, macroinvertebrates play a vital role in assessing water quality, habitat conditions, and the overall health of ecosystems. These tiny organisms, including insects, crustaceans, and mollusks, serve as indicators of environmental changes, offering invaluable insights to researchers and conservationists. However, accurately and efficiently identifying macroinvertebrates has long been a challenging and time-consuming task, particularly when facing strict deadlines or high concentrations of organisms.

Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have opened up new possibilities for simplifying and streamlining the process of macroinvertebrate identification. AI-powered tools have the potential to revolutionize how researchers and environmentalists approach the classification of these organisms, making them more accessible and user-friendly. By harnessing machine learning algorithms and image recognition technology, these tools offer a rapid and dependable means of identifying macroinvertebrates in a matter of seconds.

In this project, we explore the innovative application of AI in the realm of macroinvertebrate identification. Through the development of an easy-to-use tool, researchers and environmental enthusiasts can leverage the power of AI to gain valuable insights into aquatic ecosystems and contribute more effectively to their preservation.
